“Nostrum” – Mediterranean coast restaurant

DADADA Studio was commissioned by Apex Alliance Hotel Management, a management company certified by Hilton, Marriott and Radisson, to, to create a brand for a new restaurant rooted in Mediterranean coastal cuisine. The project began with naming and brand positioning (by DADADA), inspired by the region’s rich diversity spanning Southern Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East – places like Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, Israel, and Morocco.

The chosen name, Nostrum, comes from the Latin for “our” or “ours” and echoes the Roman phrase Mare Nostrum (“Our Sea”), once used to describe the Mediterranean. This name reflects the shared cultural heritage, flavors, and lifestyle of the Mediterranean – a region known for its warmth, social spirit, and connection to the sea.

Nostrum is a celebration of this vibrant mosaic, bringing together the best of the region’s cuisine in an atmosphere of community, hospitality, and belonging.

INSPIRATION

Terracotta tiles served as the core inspiration for the brand identity, evoking the character of Mediterranean cultures. The developed symbol is simple, modular, and versatile, allowing exploration of a wide range of tiling expressions throughout the identity. This approach created a cohesive visual system that feels both grounded and expansive.

Nostrum is a Mediterranean coast cuisine restaurant that celebrates the region’s rich culinary heritage by serving land and sea-inspired dishes, thoughtfully prepared in our own distinctive style.
